1 of an estimated 180! - Date and Code Correct 265C.I. V8 Engine - 3-Speed Manual Transmission - First Year for the V8 - Only 700 1955 Models Ever Made - Rare Gypsy Red Finish - Tan Soft Top - Light Beige Interior

1955 was a landmark year for the Corvette as it was the first to offer a V8 engine. This would change the Corvette forever, as every Corvette afterwards would come with a V8 engine as standard. The 265C.I. V8 engine in this Corvette is date correct all around and has been mated to a 3-speed manual Transmission. 1955 was also the last year for the original body design introduced in 1953 with tail-fins and other design elements later Corvettes would lose. The exterior is finished in bold Gypsy Red, of which it's estimated only 180 were originally painted, accented nicely by a Light Beige vinyl interior and a Tan soft top. Only 700 Corvettes in total were made in 1955, making it the second rarest model year ever, only being surpassed by the first year 1953.
