There are plenty of muscle cars out there that stand out amongst the crowd, but the AMC SC/Rambler is on a whole other level, especially when paired with the unique “A” Trim paint like this beautiful example we have here! Only 1,512 SC/Ramblers were ever built and they're an extremely rare sight today. The “SC” stands for “Super Car” and that it certainly was. The SC/Rambler started at less than $3,000 when new and completed the ¼ mile in just 14 seconds, a very impressive feat at the time. The advertisements even stated: “With this car you could make life miserable for any GTO, Roadrunner, Cobra Jet or Mach 1.” Making that possible is the 315hp 390C.I. V8 engine under the hood mated to a Borg-Warner T-10 4-speed manual transmission with a Hurst T-Handle shifter and the 3.54 Twin-Grip rear end. This stunning car also comes with some amazing and desirable documentation, including the original build/order sheet, original dealer invoice, original warranty booklet, and original title! That original dealer invoice also details the option of air conditioning that this SC/Rambler has been fitted with, which was only an available option at the dealer and could not be ordered from the factory on this model. Other features and options include power steering, special dual mirrors, AM radio, and a factory Sun Tach mounted to the steering column. As mentioned before, the exterior is finished in the bold “A” Trim red, white, and blue finish accented by glistening chromework and blue painted Magnum 500 style wheels with classic-look Firestone redline tires. The interior is in wonderful and clean condition covered in charcoal vinyl with a front split bench seat featuring the famous red, white, and blue headrests.
