V8 was born and included 11:1 compression, forged pistons, forged crankshaft, forged connecting rods, solid lifters, and a dual plane intake topped with a Holley carburetor. It was built to compete with cars like the Mustang Boss 302 and the Trans Am Javelins of it's day. - MacNeish Certified! - Numbers Matching "DZ" Code 302C.I. V8 Engine - Numbers Matching Muncie M20 4-Speed Manual Transmission w/ Hurst Shifter - Date Correct 3.73 Positraction Rear End - Date Correct Holley 4-bbl "4053 DZ" Code Carburetor - X33 Style Trim Group - Original No Radio Car! - Chevy Rally Wheels - Wood-Rim Steering Wheel - Finished in Correct Olympic Gold w/ Black Stripes - Black Interior - Black "Halo" Vinyl TopIf you're looking for an all correct 1969 Z/28, it doesn't get much better than this. This MacNeish certified example still sports it's numbers matching “DZ” code 302C.I. V8 engine, numbers matching Muncie M20 4-speed manual transmission, date code correct 3.73 Positraction rear end, and even it's 4-barrel Holley carburetor is the correct model and is date correct. Such an amazingly correct car is quite the sight to behold, especially when finished in it's correct Olympic Gold paint, accented by black stripes and the black “halo” vinyl top. Additionally, this stunning Camaro features X33 trim that adds some extra chrome and other touches for a bit more flair, power front disc brakes, power steering, Chevy Rally wheels, Hurst shifter, and a wood-rim steering wheel that gives a more solid and substantial feel than the standard one. This Camaro is also missing a feature seen on most others, making it even more rare, the radio. The factory radio's spot in the dash is taken by a blank plate and reminds you of that this car's true purpose in life is raw performance on the track. A previous owner has fitted a new aftermarket radio and speakers for those who do enjoy music on their drive, but these items can be removed easily and the previous owner has made sure it hasn't affected the originality by mounting the radio under the dash and NOT using a mast antenna which would've required punching a hole in the fender. This classic Z/28 is one of the most original examples out there, and Jerry MacNeish doesn't certify just any Camaro. It would make the perfect centerpiece to any Chevy enthusiast's collection. Under the hood is that correct “DZ” code 302C.I. V8, and this one comes connected to one of the most famous transmissions ever to come from GM: the legendary Muncie M-22 “Rock Crusher” 4-speed manual. The M-22 is a heavy duty close-ratio unit whose feel and sound are unmistakable. The 3.55 12-bolt Positraction rear axle is a perfect match for the rest of the drivetrain. This Camaro has extensive photo documentation (three large photo albums worth) of its detailed restoration in which many new old stock and other genuine GM parts were used. Also included is a list of part numbers for various items on the car and their date of production, showing that many of the parts are date code correct and likely original. Other features of this Camaro include a tilt steering wheel, power steering, power front disc brakes, X33 exterior trim option, “halo” black vinyl top, and correct chambered exhaust that will make you happy that this car was also optioned without a radio because you wouldn't want anything interrupting that amazing sound! Inside, you'll find a very clean black vinyl interior with bucket seats and a center console with factory gauges and is topped off with a gorgeous Rosewood steering wheel. The exterior is finished in correct Hugger Orange, one of the most desirable classic Camaro colors, with black stripes and is accented by gleaming chromework and correct “YH” code Rally Wheels. The originality, rarity, and desirability of this car seems to never stop, from bumper to bumper and from the top to the wheels, you'll be hard pressed to find such a correct car anywhere else. - Real X33 Code Z/28- Numbers Matching DZ Code 302C.I. V8 Engine- Muncie M21 Close Ratio 4-Speed Manual Transmission- Hurst Shifter- VE3 Body Color Front Bumper- Rally Wheels- Chambered Exhaust- Power Disc Brakes- Ivory Interior w/ Bucket Seats- Center Console w/ Gauges- Finished in Hugger Orange w/ White StripesThe first-generation Camaro lasted until this 1969 model year when it again paced the 69 Indianapolis 500. For 1969, Camaro had all-new sheet metal except the hood and trunk lid giving the car a substantially sportier look. The grille was redesigned with a heavy 'V' cant and deeply inset headlights. New door skins, rear quarter panels, and rear valance panel also gave the car a much lower, wider, more aggressive look. The wheel wells were flattened with sculptured feature lines flowing off towards the rear of the car and rear-slanting simulated air slots ahead of the rear wheel. The front had a full width paint matched bumper integrated with the body color grille surround and round parking lights positioned on either side of the license plate. At the rear were wider tail light bezels with triple segment lenses. The interior was updated with square gauges and an optional tachometer. Camaro had two important packages available on any model. Perhaps the most special and iconic package option was the Z28 performance package that reflected Chevrolets entry in the SCCA Trans-Am race series. Z28 included a solid-lifter 302 V8, 4-Speed Manual Transmission, Power Disc Brakes, and two wide bold stripes down the hood and decklid. The styling, considered by many Camaro enthusiasts as the ultimate muscle car look and arguably the most popular, would serve for the 1969 model year only. Advertisements assured everyone Camaro isn't called The Hugger for nothing. Its wide stance and nimble wheelbase make for a cat-quick maneuverability. GM Executives agreed with the passion for this design as it became the inspiration for the retro fifth-generation Camaro. This stunning 1969 Camaro Z28 was built in the Norwood, Ohio plant during the fourth week of February and comes wearing the same classic Code 72 Chevy Camaro Hugger Orange it did from the assembly line. The original paint color has a deep luster on a body that is straight with good factory fit and finish. All the chrome and stainless shines and shows brilliantly throughout. Lifting the functional air breathing hood with the reverse cowl scoop reveals the 302 V8 that punches out 290 excited horses to grip the asphalt. The correctly numbered 302C.I. engine sits in an impressive engine bay that is clean, well preserved and properly sorted with original factory stickers and hardware that truly reflects the '69 factory presentation. Power is delivered by the Code M21 4-Speed close ratio transmission with the Hurst shifter. Performance is delivered to the raised white lettered BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires mounted on Rally wheels which adds to the stylish competition look. Inside this cool Camaro coupe, with trim Code 727 Ivory white Bucket Seat Interior as noted on the cowl tag, you'll find one of the most stylish and cleanest cockpits of the muscle era that is true to its originality. The full length console is fitted with an array of gauges for Battery, Temperature, Oil and Fuel which coordinate well with the Tach and Speedo within the Black Dash. Everywhere you look, you marvel at how this Camaro Z28 has been restored on a very high level with every precaution taken to preserve and show originality. Without a doubt, this Hugger Orange 1969 Camaro Z28 is a muscle car in its purest and most attractive form. Please contact one of our expert sales consultants for the most complete information on this beautiful vehicle.
