Under the hood of this excellent example sits the numbers matching high-performance 340C.I. V8 engine that it left the factory with in late 1972. The transmission has been upgraded to a strong A833 4-speed with a Hurst pistol-grip shifter and it's connected to the rear wheels via a 8¾” rear end. Equipment and features include power front disc brakes, dual “racing” mirrors, dual exhaust with chrome tips, Magnum 500 wheels, and more! The interior is in excellent condition and features bucket seats with a center console and a sporty 2-spoke steering wheel. The exterior is finished in bold Basin Street Blue and is accented by the V6W white longitudinal stripe. Chrysler designers took the Plymouth Valiant design and tweaked it into a graceful two-door fastback that sported the largest single piece of glass ever fitted to a normal production car at the time. The Barracuda was born, named after one of the most feared vicious fish in the world. The Barracuda was successfully introduced for the 1964 model year and beat the Mustang to market by two weeks.
