V8 under the hood. That highly desirable mill is connected to a 4-speed Muncie manual transmission with a Hurst shifter and a 12-bolt PosiTraction rear end with 4.10 gears! This Camaro is made for duking it out on the track with it's lighter weight, but still very potent drivetrain and the other heavy-duty and high performance upgrades that came with the Z/28 package. The Z/28 was made for SCCA Trans American racing homologation in which engine size could not exceed 5,000cc (or 305C.I.), and so the special “DZ” code 302C.I. V8 was born and included 11:1 compression, forged pistons, forged crankshaft, forged connecting rods, solid lifters, and a dual plane intake topped with a Holley carburetor. It was built to compete with cars like the Mustang Boss 302 and the Trans Am Javelins of it's day. - 1 of 2,045! - Date Code Correct 283C.I. 245hp 2x4bbl V8 Engine - 3-Speed Manual Transmission - Desirable "Wonderbar" Radio! - Finished in Cascade Green w/ Beige Coves - Beige Interior- Many Receipts, Owner's Manual that appears original, California Black Plate Registration sticker bolt-on tagThere's just something about a first-generation Corvette that makes us all smile. The Corvette was the answer to veterans coming home from Europe having experienced British roadsters in large numbers and looking for a similar experience back home. Of course, we had to outdo them. So, we took a lightweight fiberglass body and stuffed a super potent V8 under the hood starting with the 1955 model year which would soon grow to 283C.I. in 1957. This stunning 1957 example's engine is fitted with the highly desirable dual four-barrel carburetor option making 245hp, a massive amount more power than the foreign roadsters it was competing against. The engine is date code correct in line with the car's production date and is 1 of only 2,045 built with that powertrain option. The transmission backing it up is a fun 3-speed manual so you can enjoy rowing through the gears yourself as you blast down your favorite curvy roads. The exterior is finished in unique Cascade Green with beige coves and is nicely accented by glimmering chromework and white-wall tires. The interior sports beige vinyl bucket seats in the classic Corvette “waffle” pattern, as well as the desirable “Wonderbar” radio, and a reduced diameter steering wheel for added comfort and driving ease that retains the original classic look. This vintage 'Vette is ready to hit the boulevard and winding beachside roads, all it needs is someone to take it there.
