In 1966 the Caprice was dropped from the Impala series to become its own line. The Caprice was now the most luxuriously equipped model in the Chevrolet line up. The Caprice was a deluxe Chevrolet with a color accented body striping. It had front fender and deck signatures, wide-ribbed body sills, wrap around rear taillights, special Caprice wheel covers, and more. The 2-door coupes offered the choice between all vinyl or cloth interiors.
