Only 1,512 SC/Ramblers were ever built and they're an extremely rare sight today. The “SC” stands for “Super Car” and that it certainly was. The SC/Rambler started at less than $3,000 when new and completed the ¼ mile in just 14 seconds, a very impressive feat at the time. The advertisements even stated: “With this car you could make life miserable for any GTO, Roadrunner, Cobra Jet or Mach 1.” Making that possible is the 315hp 390C.I. V8 engine under the hood mated to a Borg-Warner T-10 4-speed manual transmission with a Hurst T-Handle shifter and the 3.54 Twin-Grip rear end. This stunning car also comes with some amazing and desirable documentation, including the original build/order sheet, original dealer invoice, original warranty booklet, and original title! That original dealer invoice also details the option of air conditioning that this SC/Rambler has been fitted with, which was only an available option at the dealer and could not be ordered from the factory on this model. Other features and options include power steering, special dual mirrors, AM radio, and a factory Sun Tach mounted to the steering column. As mentioned before, the exterior is finished in the bold “A” Trim red, white, and blue finish accented by glistening chromework and blue painted Magnum 500 style wheels with classic-look Firestone redline tires. The interior is in wonderful and clean condition covered in charcoal vinyl with a front split bench seat featuring the famous red, white, and blue headrests. AMX

Offered at:

$39,983

PD:

How about a one of one 1969 AMC AMX's with a paint code of '00' or in simple terms 'Custom AMC Color Option'. Perhaps a little history of pink AMX's is in order. With the advent of the muscle car era American Motors was not going to be passed up by the competition so they began to market to a more youthful segment of buyers. They began in 1966 with V8 power and quickly blossomed with performance car models: SC/Rambler, Rebel Machine and AMX through out the decade. Reportedly in 1968 AMC President of Marketing held a dealer meeting at one of Hugh Heffners Playboy Clubs and awarded the Playmate of the Year with a new custom built Pink AMX. Fast forward to 1969 at Sparks Motors in Bonne Terre MS; a lady school teacher wanted to order a new AMX in pink. She paid $200 extra for the car from the factory with '00' special color code. It is believed that there were only two AMX's in pink.....one in 1968 and the current offered 1969. This car is powered by a 390 cubic inch V-8 and opitonal Go Package and make this car one desirable AMX.  Please contact one of our expert sales consultants for the most complete information on this beautiful vehicle.
