The car has undergone almost a three year restoration from July 2016- February 2019. As you can see the vehicle is highly modernized for daily driving.The 1964 Galaxie 500 XL convertible is fully integrated with a 2010 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor floor, frame, suspension, brakes, motor, transmission and rear end. The Crown Victoria body was completely removed from its frame. The frame was media blasted and painted black. Power is a 4.6 Liter SOHC Police Interceptor V8 that has been tuned and new coil packs and belts were replaced during the restoration. Some mild modification such as a narrowed rear axle, narrowed front end, new center filled gas tank were performed during the restoration. The body is very straight and the car was disassembled with all of the glass out when the car and trim off when the car was painted. The car was painted Mercedes Benz tan and was wet sanded and buffed. Then for the final stage of the paint it was ceramic coated. The previous owner who had the car built enjoyed the car a lot and drove it 25,464 miles in the last three years. Being an R-code of course means that under the hood is the legendary 428C.I. Cobra-Jet V8 engine which is fed fresh air through the ram-air shaker hood scoop. That mammoth powerplant is connected to a 4-speed top-loader manual transmission with a correct Hurst T-handle shifter and a 3.50 Traction-Lok rear axle. This car is believed to have just 28,480 original miles along with all original body panels. Other features on this stunning Mach include power steering, power front disc brakes, sport slats, sport deck rear seat, tinted glass, and the highly desirable rim-blow steering wheel. Also included is a Deluxe Marti Report which details all the options that were originally fitted to the car. The underside of this stunning 'Stang has been exceptionally well-kept and superbly detailed and is finished in it's correct red oxide coating. The pinch welds and rocker panels are as straight as the day they left the factory and still show their stampings in high relief. The interior is covered in black knit vinyl for more comfort and better grip than a traditional smooth vinyl seat, and features bucket seats and a center console as well as wood-grain trim. The exterior has been finished in correct Calypso Coral and is nicely accented by black striping, glimmering chromework, and Magnum 500 wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich Radial T/A rubber.
