The GTO was created by John DeLorean with hesitant approval from GM executives, but was an instant hit and is considered by many to be the first muscle car. This 1965 example has been extremely well restored and sports some unique features. Under the hood sits a ferocious rebuilt 389C.I. V8 engine that is believed to be original and has been upgraded to a Tri-Power induction system with Rochester carburetors for some extra get-up-and-go! That powerplant is mated to a Muncie M20 4-speed manual transmission and a 3.23 Safe-T-Track rear axle to put that power to the pavement.
