You may be asking: “What's Choo Choo Customs?” Choo Choo Customs was one of the very successful conversion companies from the 1980's, much like ASC (American Sunroof Company) and Centurion. They would take on jobs from individuals as well as dealers, and even manufacturers. The Choo Choo Customs El Camino SS is an order straight from Chevrolet. Chevrolet would send out a number of partially finished El Caminos and Choo Choo Customs would transform them into the ultimate 80's sport utility pickup, complete with Super Sport graphics and a Monte Carlo SS front fascia conversion. Only 861 were made for the 1987 model year, which would also happen to be the final year for the El Camino (aside from a few stragglers that would be 1988s officially), making this an extremely rare find. Under the hood is the stout 5.0L V8 engine with a 4-barrel carburetor, connected to it's numbers matching Turbo-Hydramatic 350 transmission and a G80 optioned Positraction rear axle. Other features and options on this unique Elco include factory air conditioning, power steering, power front disc brakes, power locks, power windows, AM/FM/Cassette radio with clock, tilt steering column, original optional aluminum Western wheels, F41 sport suspension, and a rare factory “Superlift” rear air shock system. Inside, this El Camino is in excellent condition and features a comfortable gray cloth interior with bucket seats and a center console and sports it's original Choo Choo Customs dashboard logo and recertification sticker in the driver's side door jamb. One of Only 1,918 - Numbers Matching 360hp Fuel Injected 327C.I. V8 - 4-Speed ManualIdeal Classic Cars proudly presents this 1962 Corvette Roadster for sale. Chevrolet Corvette (C1) is the first generation of the now classic Corvette sports car introduced late in the 1953 model year and produced through 1962. In 1961, the rear of the car was completely redesigned with the addition of a 'duck tail' with the now iconic four round lights. This tail light treatment would continue for all following model years of Corvettes. The most noticeable exterior changes for 1962 were the removal of the side cover chrome trim. Without the trim bright work, it was not possible to offer the coves in a contrasting color so for the first time since 1955 Corvettes were offered in solid colors only. A blacked-out grille and ribbed chrome rocker panel molding were new. The standard features now included an electric clock, dual exhaust, tachometer, heater and defroster, seat belts, outside rearview mirror and windshield washer. This was also the last year for features like the wrap around windshield, convertible-only body style, trunk lid and exposed headlamps that did not reappear for many decades. The most significant new feature was the option Code 582 Fuel-Injected 327 version producing 360 bhp making it the fastest of the C1 generation. This high performance engine was only ordered on 1,918 Vettes so made these cars very rare and collectible. '62 Chevrolet advertisements declared statements like 'Finest, Fiercest Yet'. This confirmed what many Corvette enthusiasts believed that one of the best parts of the C1 Corvette is its ability to display a wide range of personalities without ever straying from its performance roots. From refined to sinister, a change of color is all it takes to show these cars in a new light. This 1962 Corvette definitely displays the mean and nasty side of sinister thanks to the bold Roman Red exterior with some serious firepower underneath that fiberglass. This Vette was an early October '61 production from GM's St. Louis line. It is the beneficiary of a very well done restoration and presents with great authenticity and feels every bit as good as it looks on the road. The nice shine of the Matador Red paint will make your heart race, but this Camaro is more about attitude. It shows its aggressive side, with a black streak, that starts with the RS grille, runs through the SS stinger stripe, and continues onto the black vinyl roof. Even the original style rally wheels that follow this scheme make the stance quite aggressive. The traditional ducktail out back adds to the SS's attitude, and proper badging remains throughout, including the prized '350' emblems on the front fenders. But before all these features fill you with desire, take some time to look at the fundamentals. Panel fit is quite good overall, and it's nice to see a stock hood simply because its originality draws attention. Step inside and this Camaro garners respect for being true to its history. For example, the black vinyl seats, carpets, wooden three-spoke steering wheel and door panels are all correct for 1968. The center console is stock but just ahead of that is the iconic Hurst shifter and quad auxiliary gauge package. Beyond that are the deep dual pods that emphasize the large speedo and tach.
