The Model A was a huge step forward for Ford. It was the first car ever to be fitted with laminated safety glass windshield and the first Ford to feature the standard driver controls we know today. The Model A was sophisticated compared to its predecessor, with a new 3.3L four cylinder that makes twice the power of the Model T, mated to a 3-speed manual transmission, and equipped with 4 wheel drum brakes. The top on this sporty roadster is beautiful and brand new and goes perfectly along with the gorgeous leather interior and rumble seat, and is even fitted with the optional rear view mirror. Finished in black accented by a light pinstripe, this Model A doesnt just look good on the surface, the underside is just as clean as the top. General Motors' volume brand had been working towards taking the Ford Motor Company's best-selling crown for almost two decades, and with Ford's four-cylinder Model A aging and its yet-to-be-proven V-8 still in the wings, the six-cylinder-powered Chevrolet stepped in as one of the most popular cars in America in 1930 thru 1932.  Chevrolet also differed from Ford in the way its bodies were built; while Ford's bodies were constructed primarily of steel, Chevrolet car bodies used a large proportion of wood in their 'composite body' construction. Their advertising heralded this: 'This is not only the strongest, safest, most durable type known, but it is exactly the same type used in the highest-priced cars. A framework of selected hardwood is fortified at all points of stress by staunch steel bracing. Over this strong framework are mounted sturdy steel panels, so that the wood reinforces the steel and the steel reinforces the wood.'  Chevrolet began selling the six-cylinder engine--commonly called the 'Stovebolt Six', and affectionately, 'Cast-Iron Wonder'--in 1929.  'They made minor improvements to it over the next few years. It performed much better than its four-cylinder rivals, and inspired the slogan, 'Get a Six for the price of a Four.'  That inline-six integral to Chevrolet's identity was an advanced overhead-valve design, debuting at a time when flatheads ruled. With a Carter one-barrel updraft carburetor to increase performance in both horsepower and torque specs. Per the previous owner this '30 Chevy 3 Window was subject to a frame off restoration and features a new oak wood body and is finished in a timeless dark green paint with painted black fenders.  The interior is a very clean Lebaron Bonney interior.  Please contact one of our expert sales consultants for the most complete information on this beautiful vehicle.
