V8 under the hood and is connected to the smooth Ford-O-Matic automatic transmission. Features on this stunning car include the continental spare tire kit which was standard in '56, power steering, power brakes, telescoping steering wheel, Town & Country AM radio, and the white porthole hardtop. 1,447cc Inline 4-Cylinder Engine - 4-Speed Manual Transmission - Original Spare, Jack, and Tool Kit - Twin Bilge Pumps - Finished in White - Red InteriorDoes this car even need an introduction? Well if you don't know, this is an Amphicar 770. Yes, it's exactly what is sounds like, this is an amphibious car. The name 770 comes from it's speed: 7mph on the water and 70mph on land. Power comes from the peppy 1,447cc inline 4-cylinder engine mated to a 4-speed manual transmission driving the rear wheels. At the flip of a switch the dual rear props can be engaged and have forward and reverse gears. Both the rear wheels and props can be used at the same time during landings. Because of it's amphibious nature, the 770 comes equipped with dual bilge pumps and extra seals for all compartments to keep water out. It will certainly bring lots of attention both on land and especially in the water. The interior is covered in bold red and white vinyl with rubber floor mats for easy clean up incase of any water intrusion. Perhaps the best Amphicar story comes by way of President Lyndon B. Johnson, who kept his Amphicar at his ranch in Texas and would gives tours to advisors and friends. Often, President Johnson would act as if the brakes had malfunctioned as he barreled the car towards a small lake, his guests would begin to panic until they realized they were still dry and car had leveled out on the water. It's obvious President Johnson loved his Amphicar and had many fun years with it, and now you have the opportunity to do the same in this charming little white 770. V8 Engine w/ Tri-Power Induction - 4-Speed Manual Transmission w/ Hurst Shifter - Coker Classic Redline Tires - Power Steering - Factory Tachometer - Black Interior w/ Bucket Seats and Console - Black Convertible Top - Finished in Mayfair MaizeJohn DeLorean was one of the greatest men in American automotive history, and Pontiac was by far his greatest achievement. He took it from being an “old lady” brand to being one of the most well-known high-performance manufacturers of it's day, and the car that helped achieve that was the legendary G.T.O. It also launched one of the greatest advertising campaigns of all time with the famous “Tiger” ads. Those advertisements came coupled with similar efforts from U.S. Royal (Uniroyal) with their new “Tiger Paw” tires coming as standard equipment on G.T.O.s, and Esso giving out faux tiger tails along with their “Tiger in Your Tank” ads. The G.T.O. was an absolute hit and an instant classic. It would forever be a legend in the automotive world. This G.T.O. sports the 389C.I.
