V8 engine under the hood mated to a Borg-Warner T-10 4-speed manual transmission with a Hurst T-Handle shifter and the 3.54 Twin-Grip rear end. This stunning car also comes with some amazing and desirable documentation, including the original build/order sheet, original dealer invoice, original warranty booklet, and original title! That original dealer invoice also details the option of air conditioning that this SC/Rambler has been fitted with, which was only an available option at the dealer and could not be ordered from the factory on this model. How about a one of one 1969 AMC AMX's with a paint code of '00' or in simple terms 'Custom AMC Color Option'. Perhaps a little history of pink AMX's is in order. With the advent of the muscle car era American Motors was not going to be passed up by the competition so they began to market to a more youthful segment of buyers. They began in 1966 with V8 power and quickly blossomed with performance car models: SC/Rambler, Rebel Machine and AMX through out the decade. Reportedly in 1968 AMC President of Marketing held a dealer meeting at one of Hugh Heffners Playboy Clubs and awarded the Playmate of the Year with a new custom built Pink AMX. Such an amazingly correct car is quite the sight to behold, especially when finished in it's correct Olympic Gold paint, accented by black stripes and the black “halo” vinyl top. Additionally, this stunning Camaro features X33 trim that adds some extra chrome and other touches for a bit more flair, power front disc brakes, power steering, Chevy Rally wheels, Hurst shifter, and a wood-rim steering wheel that gives a more solid and substantial feel than the standard one. This Camaro is also missing a feature seen on most others, making it even more rare, the radio. The factory radio's spot in the dash is taken by a blank plate and reminds you of that this car's true purpose in life is raw performance on the track. A previous owner has fitted a new aftermarket radio and speakers for those who do enjoy music on their drive, but these items can be removed easily and the previous owner has made sure it hasn't affected the originality by mounting the radio under the dash and NOT using a mast antenna which would've required punching a hole in the fender.
